LGBTQIA+
Being queer of any flavor can be confusing, liberating, scary, beautiful, a risk, and wonderful aspects to embrace. As a queer individual, all of my education has been permeated by an interest in understanding, supporting, allying with, and assisting the LGBTQIA+ community. Most of my clientele share these identities, though anyone is welcome to seek support with me.Â
In therapy I can help you explore and understand these aspects of yourself now, developmentally, and as they manifest and evolve. We can explore how family and society has and continues to have an impact on these identities and expressions, and work towards processing traumatic interactions between aspects of ourselves and the world.
Trauma
Trauma, whether moments of severe fear or long-term impactful beliefs and events, have intense impacts on our self image, relationships, and ways of being in the world. Sometimes trauma can be forgotten and hidden, and other times it has an overwhelming impact on our life.
Though we can't erase trauma, in therapy we can help process and understand these events and lessen the impacts they have on our lives. We can help create safety and eventually reach a place of growth from these events. Trauma doesn't define you.
